DDR Signs Agreement to Promote Culture of Peace and Patriotism PDF Print E-mail

Sudan vision- Khartoum – The Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Commission (DDR) signed Tuesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU)  with the General Union of Sudanese Students with a view to establish an effective partnership between the two sides to promote a culture of peace and patriotism.

Dr. Sulaf Al-Din Saleh signed for the DDR and Eng. Mohamed Salah Ahmed signed for the Union.The MoU provides for the formation of cultural and sport associations for students and youths to promote culture of peace and national belonging, curb spread of light arms, raise popular awareness, build capacity and renovate cultural centres as well as health clinics and shrines. The two sides have agreed to work together for the optimum utilization of available resources in order to achieve the desired goals.The MoU also requires the two parties to work in coordination with Darfur, Blue Nile and South Kordofan State governments, the specialized ministries and UN agencies and the two parties should also cooperate to conduct and encourage strategic studies and exchange information in the manner that will assist the two parties to achieve their desired goals.
