Sudan vision - Khartoum – The Regional Authority for Darfur supports the Western Salvation Road Project, said the Chairman Dr. Al-Tijani Al-Sisi on Friday, pointing to the possibility of supporting the project through Darfur Development Bank, to be established soon.
The road is to play an important role in terms of economic, social and security of for the states of Darfur.Speaking directly to the citizens through Al Fasher Radio, Al-Sisi revealed that he had discussed, during his meeting in Khartoum with the Minister of Roads and Bridges, Dr. Ahmed Babiker Nahar, the implementation of the road and what has been accomplished so far, announcing organization of a workshop in Al Fasher in the coming days to discuss the progress of work and problems that hinder the progress of performance, with a view to find effective solutions.Al-Sisi said that Darfur is only one of the states of Sudan, which did not link with each other or with other states by paved roads, reiterating their willingness to implement development projects that will achieve security and stability in Darfur, stressing that the Doha Document has achieved many of the gains to the people of Darfur in the field of power that included the position of vice president, assistants and advisers, federal ministers, besides the regional authority and its structures, and participation in the states governments. He said that he will leave to Khartoum during these days to announce the names of members of the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) in the state level of ministers, commissioners and members of legislatures, adding that his movement had received the post of governor in Western Darfur, revealing that positions had been retained for the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM, in case of joining peace, pointing out that such shares will include a governor, federal and state ministries, stressing the keenness of the international and regional community to support the Doha Document, pointing to an increase in the said support after the arrival of the LJM leaders to Sudan and Darfur, along with the launch of the Regional Authority. Regarding the violations of some supporters of the armed movements that signed Darfur Peace Agreement, Al-Sisi called on those supporters to the need to adhere to provisions of the peace and stop all hostile activities against the citizens, stressing that the Authority will open investigations on the attacks to take the necessary measures to ensure they are not repeated, stressing the need to finalize the security arrangements for all armed movements signed the peace agreement, including LJM in order to achieve peace and preserve the lives of citizens. On the transfer of commissions of compensations and voluntary return, and land to the city of Nyala, Al-Sisi said that the institutions of the Regional Authority should remain in Al Fasher, but the lack of the Authority headquarters forced it to transfer the two commissions to Nyala. With respect to the situation of employees who were working in the Transitional Authority, Al-Sisi said that the said Authority was run for a specified period and all were outside the budget, and that the employment of the said employees did not conduct by the Selection Committee, noting that the Regional Authority will appoint its employees through the Selection Committee in accordance with efficiency and through annual contract, denying employment on tribal basis. Al-Sisi reiterated Regional Authority interest on native administrations to enable them to play their role.
